OREANDA-NEWS Belarusian scientists hope to participate in the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) project to create the MSU-270 orbital telescope. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of the Republic, academician of the NAS Vladimir Gusakov.

He noted that Belarusian researchers have been cooperating with the Russian university for a long time and are involved in joint projects. "MSU is currently working on a new research satellite with a telescope. We also hope to take part in its manufacture and subsequent use," Gusakov said.

In September 2023, the rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, announced the preparation of an anniversary project to create the MSU-270 orbital telescope, which plans to launch a satellite with an optical telescope to search for and study exoplanets.
