OREANDA-NEWS The diesel-electric submarine Volkhov returned to its permanent base in the city of Vladivostok after completing combat service at sea. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Pacific Fleet of Russia.

The solemn ceremony of welcoming the submarine took place in Vladivostok. At the event, Admiral Viktor Liina, Commander of the Pacific Fleet, addressed the submariners. "With such submariners, with such sailors as you, the Pacific Fleet will fulfill all the tasks set," the admiral said.

The Volkhov was in combat service at sea for 44 days.

In March, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Volkhov diesel-electric submarine of the Pacific Fleet in the Sea of Japan successfully launched a Kalibr-PL cruise missile along the coastline in the Khabarovsk Territory.
