OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky initiated meetings with representatives of Ukrainian business, during which he plans to consider the creation of an investment fund to help the army, according to the website of the President's Office.

“It would be very good for Ukrainian business to actively join the help of our army, our defenders, the defense sector of Ukraine,” Zelensky stressed.

The President of Ukraine also took the initiative to form a Defense Coalition in Parliament. He called on representatives of parliamentary factions to ensure prompt adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of decisions related to strengthening the defense capability of Ukraine, in particular, amending the state budget to increase funding for the national security sector.

Earlier, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian army is not weaker, but “at least” on the same level with NATO. 

According to him, the Ukrainian servicemen cannot be assessed as "some kind of boys" and the country is in a situation of complete confidence in the army.

“This is a serious army, and if we are talking about an army of the NATO level, then, excuse me, I think that we are definitely not weaker than this level. We are at least at the same [level],” the president said.

He stressed that the Ukrainian servicemen "fought, they buried their friends, but they defended the state, they shot, they killed, unfortunately." Zelensky believes that Ukraine should do everything to have a powerful army.

Earlier, Zelensky said that no country would dare to defend Ukraine if Russia launched a large-scale invasion.
