OREANDA-NEWS The world is threatened by the epidemic of the Marburg virus, which is incurable and poorly known to scientists. This was stated by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Mirror newspaper reports.

"The Ministry of Health of Rwanda has confirmed the country's first outbreak of the disease after detecting cases in 7 out of 30 districts. Among the confirmed cases, more than 70 percent are accounted for by medical workers from two health facilities in Kigali," the publication notes.

In particular, experts are concerned about the fact that one person suspected of infection has left Rwanda. In addition, the origin of the virus and how it spreads are unknown.

On August 22, an epidemic of stomach flu broke out at a military base in Estonia. It is noted that at the moment it is known about 70 cases, but the press secretary of the 2nd Infantry brigade, Hannes Parma, said that their number will only grow in the near future.
