OREANDA-NEWS  The United States is suspending the allocation of development assistance to other countries for 90 days to analyze its effectiveness and compliance with Washington's policy, according to a decree by US President Donald Trump.

"As part of US policy, assistance to foreign countries should no longer be allocated in a way that is not fully consistent with the foreign policy of the US president," the decree published on the White House website says.

In this regard, the provision of all development assistance to other countries is suspended for 90 days to assess the effectiveness of these programs.

The document notes that the "foreign aid industry from the United States" does not coincide with American interests, and in many cases, with American values.

Now, after reviewing the assistance programs, each of them can be continued, modified or canceled. The resumption of assistance may occur before the expiration of 90 days, if its review did not reveal any violations or problems.
