OREANDA-NEWS Serbian authorities will not allow EU sanctions against Russia to be bypassed through its territory, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.
On Friday, the delegations of the leadership of Serbia and the EU signed a number of agreements on targeted financial assistance within the framework of the EU package for the provision of funds from pre-accession funds under the IPA 3 program in the field of healthcare, migration and others. The signing was attended by the Serbian head of State and Commissioner for EU Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varheli.
"I informed him (Varheli that it is very important that no one can do anything through the territory of Serbia to circumvent sanctions, because we do not engage in crime, we do not earn from anyone's difficulties during the war, we do not need an overdraft. We have a strong enough economy and state finances to worry about ourselves, and with such EU support we have no big problems," Vucic said and added that Serbian law enforcement agencies have already identified firms that are engaged in re-export to the Russian Federation.
