OREANDA-NEWS. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Donbass, where he will visit frontline positions and talk to the military amid the escalating situation on the contact line, the press service of the presidential office said on Thursday.

The message on this matter says: "Zelensky began a working trip to Donbass. The head of state will visit the frontline positions where the regime of a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire has been systematically violated recently, and where Ukrainian defenders were killed and wounded as a result of enemy shelling."

According to the press service, Zelensky travels to Donbass as the supreme commander in chief to communicate with the military who are serving on the front line and maintain their morale.

According to the deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky, which he expressed in an interview with RIA Novosti, the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to Donbass, like the work of Kiev representatives in negotiations to resolve the situation in the region, is nothing more than work for the public.

Berdichy said: “I don’t think that if Ukraine doesn’t shell our positions, Zelenskiy is in danger. To make him a sacrificial ram? I doubt that Ukraine or its masters will agree to this. Therefore, I think that Zelenskiy, like the Ukrainian delegation in the contact group is simply engaged in PR, which has absolutely nothing to do with the pursuit of peace, the end of the war and the killing of civilians in Donbass.
