OREANDA-NEWS. The United States intends to provide military assistance in the amount of $ 250 million to Ukraine in fiscal 2020. This is stated in a statement released on Thursday by the US Department of Defense.

"The US Department of Defense today announced its plans to allocate $ 250 million in fiscal 2020 for additional training, equipment and training to strengthen Ukraine’s potential", the document says. It points out that Washington’s current decision strengthens "the long-standing defense relationship between the US and Ukraine".

At the same time, Ukraine is characterized as the "key partner of the United States at the forefront of strategic competition with Russia".
