US Expanded Sanctions Against Russia
OREANDA-NEWS The US has expanded sanctions against Russia, including a black list of 27 individuals and six companies.
A senior representative of the US administration recalled that President Donald Trump signed a decree on the implementation of restrictive measures against Moscow. According to the document, the American leader authorized the state Department to apply certain sanctions.
According to the official, the US authorities have blacklisted a group of people who are allegedly associated with the Russian "defense and intelligence sector." He noted that those accused of "interference in the elections" in the United States were also included in the sanctions list.
At the same time, the state Department has already published the names of 27 Russians, among whom was the full namesake of the chief of the General staff Igor Korobov.
The representative of the administration clarified that this did not mean the imposition of sanctions directly against these persons, but imposed restrictions on interaction with them.
The state Department, in turn, noted that getting into the black list implies that the United States can impose restrictive measures against anyone who cooperates with the defendants from the sanctions list.
The American foreign Ministry also said that in the black list includes "Oboronlogistika", Komsomolsk Gagarin aircraft factory that produces Sukhoi aircraft, as well as PMC Wagner.
In addition, due to ties with the Russian intelligence Agency included in the list of Internet research Agency, Concord Management and Consulting and Concord Catering, as well as a number of individuals. Previously against these companies, the US authorities have put forward accusations of interference in the elections in 2016, which the Russian authorities categorically deny.
In addition, the representative of the US administration said that restrictive measures were introduced against the employees of the Ministry of defense of China and Rosoboronexport because of the purchase of su-35 and s-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
The United States has not yet made a decision on the introduction of restrictive measures in respect of other buyers the s-400.
The representative of the administration stressed that the ultimate goal of the actions of the US authorities is "to prevent the flow of funds to the Russian government."
