US Congress Supports the Provision of nearly $ 700 Million Aid to Ukraine

OREANDA-NEWS. The House of Representatives of the US Congress supported the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 698 million for 2020, a member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party, Marcy Kaptur, said on Twitter.
According to her, this “more important than ever” financial support “will help the besieged country in its fight against Russian aggression” and such a decision by the US authorities demonstrates support for the “democratic path of Ukraine”. Kaptur noted that “Congress should not allow this or any other administration to illegally delay again” funding: at the end of September, US President Donald Trump explained the delay in providing military assistance to Kiev with corruption problems in the country.
The amount of financial support for Ukraine increased by $ 2.3 million compared with 2019: then Washington allocated $ 695.7 million to Kiev, including $ 250 million as military-technical support from the Pentagon. After the House of Representatives, the bill should be considered by the US Senate.
