US Citizen Who Beat a Policeman was Arrested in Russia
OREANDA-NEWS Investigators in Voronezh opened a criminal case against a 27-year-old US citizen who violated public order on a train while intoxicated and kicked a policeman several times. A US citizen has been arrested, the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Voronezh Region reported.
"A criminal case has been opened against a 27-year-old US citizen on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("The use of violence against a representative of the authorities in connection with the performance of his official duties")," the report says.
According to the investigation, on January 17, a 27-year-old US citizen was taken to the duty station of the linear police department of the South-Eastern Railway in Voronezh, who violated the order in a state of alcoholic intoxication on the train, and then kicked a policeman several times. "The attacker was detained on suspicion of committing the specified crime, at the request of the investigating authorities, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against him," the press service of the department said.
The press service of the Central District Court of the city reported that the American was also brought to administrative responsibility for hooliganism and violation of the rules of stay in the Russian Federation.
