OREANDA-NEWS. The time for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has passed. This opinion was expressed by the Ukrainian Ambassador to London Vadym Prystaiko in an interview with the ITV channel. According to him, now these negotiations have stalled for obvious reasons. The diplomat added that after the events in Bucha, "many Ukrainians cannot even think about sitting down at the negotiating table with these people."
We have already passed the stage when we had the opportunity to negotiate with them and look for some neutral points (contacts)," Prystaiko said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on Ukraine to respond as soon as possible to the treaty proposals submitted by Russia. According to him, this will testify to the serious attitude of Kyiv to the result during the negotiations.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also said that the Russian-Ukrainian negotiation process is moving slowly and, in fact, has stalled. Statements coming from Kyiv suggest that Ukraine does not need any negotiations at all.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in turn, said that Ukraine's behavior in the negotiations was "depressing." The diplomat suggested that Kyiv was not interested in further decisions on the settlement.
