U.S. to Send "Surplus" Aircraft and Armored Vehicles to Poland

OREANDA-NEWS Poland will soon receive armored combat vehicles "Cougar" and military transport aircraft C-130H "Hercules" under the US program "Surplus Military Equipment", the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade reported citing the Polish publication Altair.
It is noted that the first batch of Cougar armored vehicles is already on its way to Poland. They are practically unused, their mileage is about 200 km. Last December the Polish Defense Ministry announced about the purchase of 300 armored vehicles from the US Army surplus armaments. Their purchase will cost Poland about $112 million.
It is reported that the first of five aircraft have already passed flight tests and are preparing to fly across the Atlantic, in Poland they will be serviced and repaired. The condition of the transferred C-130Hs was previously assessed by the Polish side. The Polish Defense Ministry will bear the costs of deactivation, preparation for shipment and delivery of the aircraft in the amount of $14.3 million.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Brussels would compensate Warsaw for part of the costs of arms supply to Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and Poland agreed on joint production of weapons and military equipment.
