OREANDA-NEWS In Canada, rescuers released two whales from the fishnets. The third one is not found yet. Animals were caught in fishing gear in early July.
This happened in early July, but so far the whales swam, entangled in the nets. Ropes twisted around the tail and mouth of animals. Canadian rescuers began searching for whales from mid-July, but so far only two have been released. People swam to the prisoners and cut the nets with a knife.
Experts also found the third whale, but it was not possible to free it from the shackles from the first time. The search continues with the use of a helicopter. The main problem is that whales spend most of their time at depth, and they rarely rise to the surface.
There are only 400 polar whales in the world that live in northern waters.
