OREANDA-NEWS Turkish authorities are holding talks with the Palestinian group Hamas over the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reported on Wednesday, citing Turkish officials.

The negotiations concern civilians, not captured Israeli soldiers, the report says.

It is assumed that Hamas captured more than a hundred people during the recent attack on southern Israel: among them there are both Israelis and foreigners.
