Turkey Announced a Three-day Lockdown
OREANDA-NEWS. Turkish authorities are imposing a 24-hour curfew from Friday to Sunday amid the growing spread of the coronavirus in the country. This is stated in a circular from the Turkish Interior Ministry.
Last Friday, the daily increase in the incidence of coronavirus in Turkey showed the maximum since the beginning of the pandemic, amounting to 63,082 cases, on Wednesday the maximum deaths per day were recorded - 346.
It is recalled that Russia, due to the complicated epidemiological situation in Turkey, has reduced air traffic with this country from April 15 to June 1.
The document says: "Due to the fact that April 23 is a public holiday - the Day of National Independence and Children, this week the restriction on going out will begin at 19.00 on April 22 and will end at 05.00 on April 26".
During the curfew, Turkish cpeople can only leave their homes to go to the grocery shops and chemist's shops from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, to visit a doctor and walk with a dog.
At the end of March, President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan announced that due to an growth in the number of cases of COVID-19 in 58 out of 81 Turkish provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Mugle, a stricter curfew is introduced on weekends again, it will last from Friday 21.00 to Monday 05.00. Moreover, within the period of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, from April 13 to May 12, cafes and restaurants around the country can operate only for delivery and take-away.
