OREANDA-NEWS The United States will impose stricter import tariffs on the European Union and Canada if they attempt to unite in a bid to harm Washington. This was announced by US President Donald Trump, as reported by TASS.
On his Truth Social platform, Trump outlined the conditions under which he would escalate duties.
"If the European Union decides to collaborate with Canada to inflict economic harm on the United States, I will respond by imposing substantial duties on them — much more stringent than currently planned," he warned.
Earlier, it was revealed that the US president had signed an executive order imposing a 25% tariff on all vehicles manufactured abroad. This move is aimed at incentivizing companies to relocate their production back to the United States.
"Companies are relocating to America to avoid paying duties. They are already seeking locations to establish their factories," Trump said, adding that Honda has already begun constructing a factory in Indiana.
The president of the United States has stated that numerous nations have been exploiting the United States for the past four decades, taking advantage of its softness and vulnerability. This has resulted in the national debt reaching a staggering 36 trillion. Trump plans to recover a significant portion of this debt, primarily from the European Union and China.
