Trump Announced a Meeting with Putin at the G20 Summit

The head of the United States in an interview with Fox News reported that he would meet with the Russian president during the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan. “I want to get along with Russia, and I think we can do it. I want to get on with China, and I think we can. I will meet both Putin and Xi Jinping in Japan”, Reuters quotes Trump.
On the eve of the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that he had no news about the upcoming meeting between Putin and Trump. And this is despite the fact that in the entourage of the head of the Russian state they just form the schedule of bilateral talks in Osaka. On June 17, Peskov also said that the Kremlin had not received proposals from the American side regarding the full-scale meeting of the presidents in Osaka. Earlier, he argued that a full-length meeting of leaders could take place on the eve of the G20 summit.
Previously, the media of different countries wrote about this event, they noted that State leaders met in Finland last summer, after this summit Putin and Trump no longer held joint meetings, there were only talks over the phone. At a joint press conference following the summit, the leaders of Russia and the United States recognized the negotiations as successful. The President of Russia called the atmosphere of the meeting “frank and businesslike”, and Donald Trump, in turn, noted the openness and productivity of the dialogue, which “went very well”.
Earlier, Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin on Friday, May 3. The leaders of the two world powers talked for about an hour and a half. The main subject of the telephone conversation was the possible prospect of a new nuclear agreement between Russia, the United States and China.
