OREANDA-NEWS. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya (pictured), who was a former candidate for the presidency of Belarus and the main opponent in the elections of Alexander Lukashenko, called herself "the elected president of the people." She stated this in an interview with the German edition of Bild.

Citizens oppose the official election results, in which Tikhanovskaya won 10 percent of the vote and President Alexander Lukashenko, who ran for a sixth term, 80 percent. The current head of state believes that elements of external intervention are visible in the situation.
