This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during the government hour in the Federation Council, TASS reports.
When the route was launched, it was assumed that the gas pipeline would reach its design capacity in 2024. The dates were later postponed to 2027. As in the case of the first change, company representatives and officials did not name the reasons for the revision of plans.
Novak also said that the implementation of the Far Eastern route will allow for the supply of another 10 billion cubic meters of fuel to China. Earlier, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, indicated that this direction would be launched no later than 2027.
Regarding the prospective gas pipeline "Power of Siberia-2", which should pass through the territory of Mongolia, the Deputy Prime Minister did not provide new information, limiting himself to saying that the route is being worked out with the Chinese side. Separately, Novak mentioned that gas supplies to the Krasnoyarsk Territory could begin in 2028.
The agreement on the construction of the gas pipeline has been being prepared for several years, but in the last year the Chinese side stopped mentioning the project. In particular, nothing was said about its prospects in March following the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow and in October during a trip to China by a representative Russian delegation led by President Vladimir Putin.
