The Wife of a Mexican Drug Lord was Detained in the Virginia, USA
OREANDA-NEWS. Emma Aispuro, the wife of Mexican drug lord Joaquin El Chapo (Shorty) Guzman, was detained on February 22. She is suspected of participating in the international trafficking of prohibited substances, the US Department of Justice reports. The 31-year-old woman was stopped by security forces at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia. On February 24, she can appear in court via video link.
The drug lord Shorty was extradited from Mexico to the United States in 2017. He was charged with supplying drugs, illegal possession of weapons and organizing murders. In February 2019, a jury in a New York City court found Shorty guilty on all 10 counts.
A court sentenced him to life term and another 30 years in prison. The mother of the Shorty asked the American leader Donald Trump to allow her to meet with her son.
Earlier it was reported, that members of several Mexican cartels and Alejandrina Giselle Guzman, Joaquin's daughter, are handing out boxes of food, medical masks and antiseptics to people to help them survive due the coronavirus pandemic. Alejandrina Giselle Guzman was spotted on the streets of Guadalajara. The girl gave the needy boxes with the image of her father, which she collected herself: food and toilet paper are packed for residents inside.
