OREANDA-NEWS The press secretary of the National Security Council of the White House, Adrienne Watson, rejected information about the involvement of the United States in the explosions on two lines of the Nord Stream. He said it was "a complete lie and a complete fiction," TASS reports.
Earlier today, on February 8, American journalist Seymour Hersh published an article entitled "How America destroyed the Nord Stream gas pipeline". The text, citing a source "with direct knowledge of operational planning," claims that in June 2022, US Navy divers operating under the cover of NATO exercises BALTOPS22 and with the approval of the Norwegian authorities, laid C4 explosives under three pipes of the "Northern Streams". On September 26, 2022, by order of the administration of US President Joe Biden, an Orion P8 reconnaissance aircraft of the Norwegian Navy dropped a sonar buoy, the signal from which spread underwater first to Nord Stream-2, then to Nord Stream-1. This signal activated the explosives, according to the material of Mr. Hersh.
Denmark was the first to report on the explosions on the Nord Streams. According to Danish experts, the explosion power on each pipeline was 500 kg of TNT equivalent. In addition to Denmark, Norway and Germany initiated their own investigations. On November 1, the places of explosions of gas pipelines were examined by the Russian Gazprom. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the damage to the "Northern Streams" an "act of international terrorism."
