The United States Intends to Establish Trump Day
OREANDA-NEWS. Two Ohio GOP officials have offered to commemorate the years of the 45th head of the White House and institute Trump Day in recognition of the merits of "one of America's greatest presidents."
John Cross and Reggie Stolzfuss sent a letter with an offer to join the initiative to their fellow party members from the House of Representatives. Trump's birthday, June 14, was selected as the most suitable memorable date.
The letter of the initiators says: "Let's show the 3,154,834 voters in Ohio who voted to re-elect Donald Trump that we, as a legislature, appreciate and recognize the achievements of his administration."
In addition, the hypothetical Trump Day is overlaid on the 1777 national holiday, Flag Day. Jeff Crossman, one of the members of the House of Representatives recalled this fact. He says he doesn't like the idea of replacing the federal flag holiday which has been already existed. He thinks it's disrespectful.
On the other hand, if there were not for the scandals around Trump, the initiative would have had the right to exist. For example, in California, February 6 is celebrated as Ronald Reagan Day, and August 4 in Illinois is celebrated as Barack Obama Day. Such memorable dates are not holidays, they are only intended to preserve the memory of outstanding politicians. So, in schools, students at this time are told about the deeds of their famous countrymen.
