OREANDA-NEWS  US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia found itself in a "world of pain" because of the Ukrainian conflict. He stated this in an interview with NBC.

"In military, economic and diplomatic relations, it is in a much worse position than it was [before the conflict]," Blinken said.

He also said that Washington will work to prevent Moscow's rapprochement with Tehran and Pyongyang. "We are monitoring and acting to try to disrupt it, to upset it wherever possible," the US Secretary of State said.

Earlier in September, Blinken said that Ukraine would be ready to negotiate with Russia if Moscow made such a proposal.
