OREANDA-NEWS  Moscow condemns the ongoing Israeli strikes on the territory of Syria and demands their cessation, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry recalled that on July 2, Israeli warplanes fired several rockets at targets in the Syrian province of Tartus, as a result of which two civilians were injured and serious damage was caused to civilian infrastructure.

"Once again, we emphasize that the ongoing Israeli strikes on the territory of the SAR are categorically unacceptable. We strongly condemn such irresponsible actions that violate the sovereignty of Syria and the basic norms of international law, and demand their unconditional cessation," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on the ministry's website.
