Alexei Zaitsev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Moscow calls on the US and the EU to pay attention to "Ukraine's destruction of its own population", to achieve an end to the war in Donbass. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“We call on the Western curators of Ukraine, primarily the US and the EU, to pay close attention to the years-long humiliation and destruction of its own population by the Kiev regime, to get the Ukrainian authorities to end the fratricidal war in Donbass,” Zaitsev said.

Earlier, the permanent representative of Russia in the contact group on the settlement of the conflict in Donbass, Boris Gryzlov, said that the Ukrainian delegation at the talks was sabotaging the peace process. He noted that the Ukrainian side lacks meaningful proposals and arguments on the practical settlement of the conflict.

Gryzlov added that the situation on the contact line remains tense: residential buildings and civilian objects, including a school, came under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
