OREANDA-NEWS  Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will not attend the BRICS summit in Kazan due to a head injury and hemorrhage. This is reported by the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo with reference to the results of the medical examination.

"According to reports, he [Lula da Silva] was sitting on a bench and slipped. The accident happened on Saturday evening when Lula and First Lady Rosanela da Silva (...) We were completing preparations for a trip to the Russian city of Kazan, where the BRICS summit will be held. The president went to the hospital, where he had stitches in the back of his head," the publication notes.

At this point in time, the health of the head of state is not in danger. Nevertheless, there is still a risk of a second hemorrhage, which is why Lula da Silva will miss the summit in Kazan.

Earlier it became known that Lula da Silva will not attend the BRICS summit in Kazan for medical reasons. It is noted that the head of state is temporarily unable to fly long distances. At the same time, the Brazilian leader will take part in the summit via videoconference.
