OREANDA-NEWS  The President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bezhania, signed a law on the ratification of a new agreement on the transfer of the Pitsunda state property to Russia, which the local opposition protested against. This was reported by the state news agency of Abkhazia "Apsnypress".

By the decision of the President, a document was ratified entitled "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Government of the Russian Federation on the transfer to the ownership of the Russian Federation of an object on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia and the procedure for its use, signed in Moscow on January 19, 2022."

Commenting on the conclusion of the new agreement, Russian Ambassador to Abkhazia Mikhail Shurgalin noted that "Pitsunda" for local residents is associated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly held official meetings here. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also visited the State Duma on working visits.
