The likelihood of a direct military clash between Russia and Western countries is currently minimal, but European states are gradually drawn into the conflict in Ukraine, said political analyst Dmitry Evstafiev. He stressed that Russia, meanwhile, does not intend to go beyond the special operation and provoke a larger conflict, writes Lenta.ru.

In fact, there is already a creeping retraction of European countries into the conflict in Ukraine. There are no longer only some supposedly volunteers, but there are already normal military personnel, advisers. First of all, British, Polish, recently there have been more and more reports of the presence there of allegedly retroactively dismissed military personnel from Canada, Germany, and so on, ”said Evstafiev.

According to him, Germany, Great Britain, the USA and Poland can already be called "with absolute certainty" parties to the conflict. The political scientist believes that these states are legitimate military targets. According to Evstafiev, there will still be a military conflict between Russia and the countries of the West. This is evidenced by the supply of more modern weapons to Ukraine, Yevstafiev is convinced.

These weapons will have to be supplied with crews and maintenance units. [For this] Russian-speaking citizens of the United States, Germany, possibly France and Poland will be recruited. In this sense, sooner or later we will reach a direct military clash with the countries of the West,” the political scientist concluded.
