Juan Vicente Perez Moret was born on May 27, 1909 in a family of ten children. He worked as a farmer for many years, and sold his last piece of land at the age of 104. He had 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The centenarian admitted that he starts every day with a cup of coffee and breakfast with his family. He remained a devout Catholic all his life and prayed daily. According to him, the most important thing he has learned in life is "love for God, love for family and the need to get up early for work."
Now 112-year-old Japanese Gisaburo Sonobe, born in 1911, is considered the oldest man in the world. The oldest person remains Maria Branhas Morera, who recently celebrated her 117th birthday.
