For the first half of the year, it amounted to 91.7% compared to the same period last year, and the share of these illegal acts in the overall structure of crime reached 22.3%," the press service of the Department reported.

At the same time, about half of crimes in the IT sphere are frauds, including with Bank cards. In this regard, the Agency urges Russians never to inform outsiders of their card details.

The number of domestic crimes has decreased by 10.6% since the beginning of the year. The number of crimes related to intentional infliction of serious harm to health decreased by 15.1%, by 13.1% — with moderate harm, by 8.7% — with light harm and by 50% — related to beatings.

In January-June, the number of crimes committed in public places decreased by 10.2%, including on streets, squares, parks and squares — by 10.2%. Street robberies were reduced by 23.6%, robberies — by 20.7%, theft — by 19.6%, theft of vehicles-by 28.7%.

In may, when quarantine restrictions were still in effect in many regions, the interior Ministry reported a decrease in the crime rate among migrants. During the period from January to April 2020, the number of crimes committed in Russia by citizens of other countries fell by 1.2%. the Ministry of internal Affairs specifies that the murder rate decreased by 2%, robberies decreased by 8.1%, the number of robberies and thefts decreased by 9.4 and 5.5%, respectively.

"Some experts expressed fears that the introduced restrictive measures could provoke an increase in the number of street crimes, in particular committed by migrants. These forecasts were not justified, " the interior Ministry said at the time.
