OREANDA-NEWS Medicines included in the Russian register of medical drugs will be removed from restrictions on transit through the territory of Belarus, relevant agreements have been reached, the Ministry of Industry and Trade told Interfax.
"We are in close contact with our Belarusian colleagues on this issue, and agreements in principle have already been reached: the proposal of the Russian side to include the Russian register of medicines as a basis for excluding the transit of finished medicines through the territory of the Republic of Belarus was supported," the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported and added that they are waiting for the release of a regulatory act from the Belarusian colleagues.
Regarding the issue of transit through the territory of the republic of unpackaged medicines, pharmaceutical substances, raw materials, materials and components for their production, as specified in the department, it was decided to further elaborate the appropriate mechanism "by analogy with the confirmation of their intended purpose by the responsible executive authority of the Russian Federation acting in Resolution No. 247."
On November 21, Vedomosti reported that pharmaceutical manufacturers had difficulties transporting medicines from the European Union and raw materials for their production through the territory of Belarus. The newspaper referred to a letter from the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (ARFP) to Senator and member of the Commission on Labor, Social Policy and Healthcare of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Vladimir Kruglov.
The difficulties began after the September changes in the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic No. 247, which introduces a ban on the movement of trucks and tractors registered in the EU around the country. At the same time, transported medicines (including unpacked), raw materials, medical products, as well as spare parts for them must now be included in the State Register of Medicines (medical products) of the republic or the Unified Register of Registered Medicines of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). If the conditions are not met, the trucks are subject to transfer to the EAEU transport at customs points or the products are reloaded into trucks of the Union.
