OREANDA-NEWS All actions in the relations of the Finnish energy corporation Fortum are carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, they are necessary to protect their own interests, said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier on Friday, the Finnish energy corporation Fortum notified Moscow of its disagreement with the transfer of its Russian "daughter" - PJSC Fortum - to the temporary management of the Federal Property Agency and is preparing to defend its rights.
"These actions, they are primarily dictated by the need to protect our own interests against the background of the steps taken by unfriendly countries, and all actions against Fortum are carried out in accordance with our legislation. They will continue," Peskov said, answering a question from journalists about how the Kremlin can respond to the objection of the Finnish concern against the transfer of its Russian "daughter" - PJSC Fortum to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency.
Russian President Vladimir Putin last week signed a decree on the response to the seizure of Russian assets abroad and the restriction of property rights. The decree approves the list of foreign assets that are transferred to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency as a response. It includes 83.73% of Unipro shares indirectly owned by the German government (through Uniper) and 98.23% of Fortum owned by the Finnish concern Fortum. But the list can be expanded.
