OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, said that she was recording a gradual abandonment of the use of the dollar. But at the same time, she does not see an alternative to the US currency in the near future.

Back in early April, she made a loud statement: "The United States provides stability in the world thanks to the dollar." The head of the IMF recalled then that in the past the United States managed to successfully avoid the onset of default. According to Georgieva, similar measures should be taken by Washington in the summer of 2023.

And two years ago, she was sure that the US dollar - ordinary or digital - would remain among the world's reserve currencies in 10 years.
