OREANDA-NEWS The helicopter, which was supposedly supposed to fly Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, crashed on Sunday, the president was not on board, there were no fatalities, a local TV channel reported, citing a statement by the country's Information minister Jenfan Muswere.

According to the BBC, the helicopter crashed on Sunday shortly after the President of Zimbabwe took part in celebrations on the occasion of a local holiday.

"The helicopter on which President Mnangagwa was supposed to fly crashed due to a technical malfunction, but the president was not on board.... There were crew members on board the helicopter, but no one was killed," a statement on the TV channel's website said.
