OREANDA-NEWS The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, held talks in Vienna with the head of the Rosatom State Corporation, Alexei Likhachev, on the issue of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). Grossi announced this on the social network X.

"A timely exchange of views with Alexey Likhachev from Rosatom, based on recent interagency consultations with Russia in Kaliningrad and subsequent visits to Ukraine and Russia," the head of the agency said.

He added that the meeting participants agreed on the need to maintain the presence of the IAEA mission at the nuclear facility.

Earlier, Rafael Grossi summed up the results of the two-year mission at the Zaporizhia NPP. He noted that all seven integral components of the station's safety have been undermined "completely or partially," and the situation since 2022 remains "shaky and unstable."
