OREANDA-NEWS The first cultural space "Niger-Russia" has opened in the capital of Niger, the organizers of the event told RIA Novosti.

"In Niamey, our NGO "Niger-Russia Together Hand in Hand" opened the first Niger-Russia cultural space. Among the honored guests attending the ceremony were representatives of the central City Hall of Niamey and representatives of religious communities. The opening ceremony of the cultural space marks the beginning of a new era of intercultural cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries," said President of the NGO "Hand in Hand Niger-Russia" Diko Muamadou.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Nigerian artists dressed in Russian national costumes. Thanks to this, the audience was able to plunge into the history and traditions of Russia and get acquainted with Russian culture. Niger culture was also presented at the ceremony: national dances, songs and traditional cuisine.
