OREANDA-NEWS Artek International Children's Center, among other 116 individuals and legal entities from Russia, was included in the new sanctions list of the European Union, according to the published document.

The materials of the EU magazine claim that the specified Russian Federal State budgetary educational institution allegedly financially supports actions threatening the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Artek, an international children's center located on the southern coast of Crimea, was the most famous pioneer camp of the USSR in Soviet times and was considered the hallmark of the country's pioneer organization. His first shift opened on June 16, 1925.

Artek came under US sanctions about a year ago. At the time, the Russian Embassy in the United States said that the Americans' decisions were based on unfounded accusations and represented a desire to take revenge on the most defenseless.
