OREANDA-NEWS. The summit of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) began in Yerevan at the State Residence of the President of Armenia. Before the meetings of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the Prime Minister of Armenia took a joint photo at the entrance to the residence, and then went to the first meeting, which will be held in a narrow format, most of it will be closed to the press.

After the meeting in a narrow composition, the second meeting will be held in expanded format, with the participation of invited leaders - President of Moldova Igor Dodon as head of the observer state at the Union, as well as honored guests - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Lun. Before this meeting, its participants will also take a joint photo. It's expected that members of the High Council will consider the current issues of the EAEU’s activities, promising areas for the development of integration processes in Yerevan, outline the tasks to improve the functioning of the single Union market and expand cooperation in key sectors of the economy.

Heads of states will approve the Concept for the formation of the common financial market of the union, the EAEU budget for next year and a number of decisions on harmonization of legislation in the field of transport and energy. The main directions of the Union’s international activities for 2020 will also be agreed. After the approval of the post of chairman of the head of state, other equally important issues will be discussed.

Another item on the agenda of the meeting is the appointment of a new Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the international economic authority. After meetings of the Supreme Council, a number of internal union documents will be signed, as well as a free trade agreement between the EAEU and Singapore. In the evening, an official dinner is planned at the EAEU Heads of State.
