OREANDA-NEWS In Vilnius today, July 12, 2019, the inauguration of the elected President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, took place.

The second round of presidential elections was held on May 26. Nauseda scored 65.8% of voters.

Addressing the people, the president declared that unity of the nation was important to him.

Gitanas Nauseda (lit. Gitanas Nausėda; born May 19, 1964, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, USSR) - Lithuanian politician, economist, banker, and university professor.

The father is Antanas Nauseda (born 1929), an engineer, the chief power engineer of the Klaipeda pulp mill (lt: AB Klaipėdos kartonas), born in the village of Budviačai.
Mother - She is Stase Nausedene (1932–2014), a teacher of physics and mathematics, was born in the village of Lazdininkai.

In addition to his native Lithuanian language, Gitanas Nauseda speaks English, German and Russian.

On September 17, 2018, Gitanas Nauseda announced his candidacy for the presidential elections in Lithuania in 2019. In the first round of the presidential election, having gained 30.95% of the votes, he finished second and in the decisive second round he met Ingrid Simonite. May 26, 2019 Nauseda won the presidential elections in Lithuania.
