OREANDA-NEWS. The situation on the contact line in Donbass has been "rapidly deteriorating" over the past two months. This was stated to RIA Novosti by the representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in the security group at the negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict, Alexei Nikonorov.

Earlier, the DPR representation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of the ceasefire regime has repeatedly stated about the deterioration of the situation on the line of contact. In turn, the People's Militia Department of the DPR notes an increase in the number of facts of the use of artillery systems and mortars of 120 and 82 millimeters by Ukrainian security officials.

Aleksey Nikanorov said: “Immediately after the ceasefire control and compliance measures came into force, which were agreed with great difficulty and after almost a year of efforts, the situation on the contact line changed for the better. The JCCC of the parties in the current composition, and the OSCE SMM recorded periods of complete silence. However, according to him, "the last two months the situation has been rapidly deteriorating."

Oleksiy Nikonorov believes that aggravations on the contact line in Donbass are associated with the activity of Kiev at the international level.

He noted that "almost every time on the eve of a thematic event at the international level, we have an exacerbation, which serves as a pretext for the next" loud "statements by official Kiev at all possible venues. The arrival of European or American politicians - we also expect aggravation and provocations."
