OREANDA-NEWS The next package of US military aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will include HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems and Javelin antitank missile systems, according to reports from the AP news agency, citing sources in the US government.

The new aid package includes weapons for air defense, such as highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) and 150- and 155-millimeter artillery shells. It also includes Javelin antitank ammunition, as well as other equipment and spare parts. The total cost of the package is estimated at $275 million, according to the statement.

Earlier, the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, announced the next package of military assistance. "The United States will continue to increase security assistance to Ukraine," she said, "and we will announce additional security assistance for Ukraine in the coming days." The diplomat made this statement at a meeting of the Security Council.
