OREANDA-NEWS. In Nizhny Novgorod, the head of the department for work with police personnel, Colonel of the internal service Sergei Yakushev, was found dead in his apartment. The cause of death is not called. However, RIA Novosti reports that there was a suicide, no crime was revealed. The body was found by relatives of the deceased, an investigation of the incident is being conducted.

«Currently, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region is being checked upon the discovery of the body of an policeman by relatives. The management and personnel express their condolences to the relatives and friends», the ministry said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that a retired colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Andrei Drozdov, was found dead in Moscow. It is assumed that he committed suicide. The body of the former officer was found by his wife in an apartment in Bolshoy Afanasyevsky Lane. The version of suicide was put forward based on the nature of the injuries. The motives for which the ex-colonel could take his own life are not yet called.
