OREANDA-NEWS Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday announced plans to develop cooperation with the BRICS member countries, the Mehr news agency reports.

"Iran will continue to develop relations with Russia, China and the BRICS countries," he said at a press conference.

Speaking about relations between Iran and the United States, he noted that Washington "should be the first to demonstrate good intentions."

"Iran will never accept intimidation," Peseshkian added.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Ahmadian, said that "cooperation with Russia remains a priority for the team of the new president Masoud Pezeshkian." "We are waiting for him in Kazan on October 22-24 at the BRICS summit," he added.
