OREANDA-NEWS  Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova named Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan a contender for Olympic gold. Her words are quoted by Match TV.

"The most perfect, bouncy, beautiful, strong, the most‑the most. She is capable of fighting for the highest award, for the title of Olympic champion," Tarasova said.

17-year-old Petrosyan joined the national team for the 2024/2025 season. The figure skater is the current champion of Russia.

Russian figure skaters were banned from competing in tournaments under the auspices of the International Skating Union (ISU) in March 2022. The last major start for domestic athletes was the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
