OREANDA-NEWS The Swiss authorities have decided to investigate the activities of firms that circumvent the anti-Russian sanctions regime. This was reported by Bloomberg.

According to him, we are talking about those organizations that use subsidiaries in other countries and thereby ignore the restrictions imposed against the Russian Federation. It turned out that some Swiss traders had moved or opened offices in jurisdictions such as Dubai and continued to do business with Russia. Now the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, the government agency responsible for enforcing Swiss sanctions, is investigating whether some of these companies continue to operate effectively from Switzerland.

According to agency officials, measures will be taken against anyone who is convicted of opening fictitious companies.

Earlier it was reported that Switzerland would not apply the 14th package of anti-Russian sanctions of the European Union in full. It turned out that the legislation of this country already allows you to punish subsidiaries for circumventing sanctions.

Prior to that, the Swiss Bankers Association described international sanctions imposed against other countries as the main risk.
