OREANDA-NEWS It has been decided to transfer payments for gas supplies to Europe into rubles as soon as possible, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. This is stated in the article of RIA Novosti.


According to the head of state, Russia will refuse to accept payments for natural gas supplies in compromised currencies, including dollars and euros.

In this regard, the Russian president instructed the Central Bank and the government within a week to determine the order of operations for the purchase of rubles in the domestic market by buyers of Russian gas. Putin specified that Russia will supply gas in accordance with the volumes and pricing principles contained in the contracts - only the currency of payment will be changed.

Against the background of Putin's statement, the dollar fell below 100 rubles in trading on the stock exchange on March 23.
