Luxury Brands Broke Sales Records in Russia in 2021

OREANDA-NEWS Last year affiliates of global fashion houses earned a record amount of revenue in Russia, RBC reports referring to RAS statements of legal entities of eight international companies operating in Russia independently, according to Gazeta.ru.
The sales leader among global premium brands in Russia was Chanel. Last year it earned 18.44 billion rubles, which is 6.4 billion rubles more than in 2020. In second place with revenues of 8.58 billion rubles was Christian Dior, in third place - Hugo Boss with revenues of 7.61 billion rubles. The fashion house Bvlgari showed the highest growth dynamics. Its earnings for the year grew by almost 2.5 times - up to 4 bln rubles.
Prada with 6.85 billion rubles, Tiffany with 4.56 billion rubles, Fendi with 1.86 billion rubles and Bogner with 1.66 billion rubles also entered into the top eight companies. According to INFOLine-Analytics agency, at the end of 2021 the market of luxury clothes, footwear and accessories reached 320 billion rubles.
At the beginning of March many fashion houses suspended their activity in Russia. Among them were brands owned by conglomerates LVMH and Kering, as well as Chanel, Prada, Hugo Boss and others.
