Internet Archive Threatened with Fines in Russia

OREANDA-NEWS A magistrate's court in Moscow will consider a protocol drawn up by Roskomnadzor against the American nonprofit organization Internet Archive for failure to remove banned content. It was reported by TASS, citing the court, according to Lenta.ru.
It is noted that the maximum fine faced by the organization in Russia is four million rubles.
Earlier it was reported that a court in Moscow fined the Wikimedia Foundation, which maintains the infrastructure for the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, two million rubles for failure to remove prohibited information. The protocol was drawn up because of the refusal of administrators of "Wikipedia" to remove articles about smoky and smokeless gunpowder.
