Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar: It is not Worth Giving Political Overtones to Russia's Oil Procurement

OREANDA-NEWS Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar responded to accusations of politicizing oil purchases from Russia, saying that even Europe buys oil today, RIA Novosti reported, according to Gazeta.ru.
He also noted that if European countries and the US are so excited about buying oil from Russia, then why "they have squeezed out all the other sources of oil that we have".
On the eve of the European Union finally approved the sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Thus, according to the document, within six months the EU countries are planning to completely stop importing Russian oil and within eight months - Russian oil products.
It was reported that U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamurti sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken urging the State Department to cooperate with the European Union to impose an embargo on Russian oil and also suggested considering possible sanctions against Hungary for its refusal to support the restrictions.
